TWOM: Thanks for the response!

I know Mark was written before the other Gospels and was most probably used as a source for the other synoptics (Matthew and Luke). It is also probable that he (Mark) recorded Peter's account of the Gospel like a scribe. You are quite wrong, however, about the dating and the authorship of the books. All of the Gospels can be dated before the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 A.D. (less than 40 years after Jesus' death) and there is little reason to doubt the authorship (especially of the synoptics).

As to Eusebius, you are incorrect in your analysis of his role in the church. He was a spiritual leader and theologian who served as the Bishop of the church in Caesarea.

Paul does encounter Jesus on earth on the road to Damascus (although I'm sure you are looking for a pre-ressurrection occurance). Paul also does speak of Jesus' earthly role in Philippians 2:5-11. Not to mention, the doctrines and theological perspectives that Paul presents fall in line with the teachings of Christ as well as those found in the epistles and writings of the other apostles (John, Peter, James, etc.).

What do you constitute as historical evidence for existence? And just f.y.i., Origen did not live until around 150 years after the death of Jesus.

Try beyond the universe

If you left this world and came back 1,000 years youwould find a semblence or remnants that "something" was here or someone. Nothing can come from nothing. for the largets mountains and oceans to the smallest "nannoscopic object."

Did the universe eemingly form itself? What about man? The simlplest creature this is? Unclothed, No "natural defenses." Was he born full / grown / upright?

Able to feed, cloth and comprehend his surroudings from first dawn? People are engineered to feed upon the land. Are the earth's protective coverings just mere coincidence? Just plain luck that the earth is 3/4ths warter? What about oxygen? Just happened to be on the right planet at the right time? Coincidence?

Creation has a name...Call him (or some would believe her). Cycle of life; thoughts, innovations, pain joy, suffering, sight, smell, taste... All random particles in the universe?

What about that void called space? All though stars---all those galaxies moving; surely cannot be called shear coincidence?

Technology and divinity...Why is it a choice? God or Science? Why can't it be two, or three choices? How many dieties do whe have? Exactly how many are there? Who exactly knows if any?

Try this:

Something made everything...
We just don't know who....
When....
What..... Or
Where......

And the "not knowing" is what's killing us...
Like a child spoiled or merely aching for the truth--the factor of time has cast a great many doubts in our minds. The answer to thsi question is not unaswerable... Start with what you know and work backwards...

If you are willing (wether scientific or spiritual) to at least admit that something made you; you can seek the answer...
But knowing the answer that you seek comes at a price.

“manifesting” means to make something tangible or readily perceived by the senses especially by sight (this is according to Merriam-Webster Dictionary). The word can be applied in many ways depending on the context.

thank you underground. I think that the more American "White People" people that come into contact with people like yourself, who do undertsand the "perspective" from an African American point of view without being black will surely pave the way for cultural understanding--while "diminishing" the "strangle hold" like impact slavery and racism has had on my people.

I feel that everyon is entitled to their opinion. My only glitch is make sure your opinions are based upon facts. Something many Anglo Americans I refere to as "White Folks" who only see the color of my skin as a precusor for evil and villany.

Black people are impertinently good in nature. We do have some Black people that we call black folks; that hate. They are a “product” of the system-(slavery / racism, second class citizenship in America) that created this “mess” in the first place. I try to be fair and impartial when I can. I also try to stand up for what is fair, equal, right and true.

In America there are a lot of Whites that helped and were instrumental with the abolishment of slavery and racism and were critical people in the Civil Rights Movement. A lot of them never ever got credit--that was due to them; nor were not mentioned in the history books and even today-(many Whites living in today’s society that make significant contributions) towards removing the barriers of ignorance and shame.

These are the people I feel are my “true Anglo brothers and sisters” who see me as a person as I see them. I salute you underground for making the statement that you just made. We need more people like you not only in America, but across the world.

I still let people know that I am not a racist; I just “dislike White Folks.” Those people (White Folks) living in this country (America) that are white and only see the color of my skin as a threat or scourge . Now “White People” are different; they see me only as a person. The way I like and should be viewed. Nothing more; nothing less.

I’m merely bring up the contrast between White Folks and White People because of some comments I made earlier I part on another blog. And if you did not see that blog, I did not want to unjustly offend anyone with my remarks, descriptions or characterizations in reference to those (Whites) that are truly good natured and kind at heart.

I do not hate Black Folks because I too, am “one of them.” However, Black Folks fall into two categories-(1) the ones (like me) that hate only "White Folks" and not "White People." And the others-(2) that hate "all Whites" including White People.

Whenever I find "Black Folks" that hate White People, I try and discourage them from this practice because "White People" are not our enemy. They (White People) simply are often summed up as "being racist" as a result of the racial mistreatment predominately by the Whites these Blacks-(2) had encountered from them.

Now if there are "White Folks" willing to stop hating me for the color of my skin, then I too can stop hating them. And there are a lot of White Folks that are just plain misguided.

And if they (White Folks) come to understand our plight and condition--and the impact this country has had upon my people and culture; then I am willing to forgive-(and I truly mean this) and start working with them on building a better future within our society that us "inclusive" to them.

To “White People” especially in America. I recognize, respect and appreciate you. Especially what some of your ancestors have done and the impact (like my 10th grade English teacher Karl Hicks) you have had upon reshaping my life and thinking.

It was actually Mr. Hicks that opend my eyes on how to combat racism. How to "fight back" without the violence. How words can move a nation; while tamming a spirit.

Unfortunately, he passed away more than 10 years ago; but his teachings and spirit lives on in me. As does the words of King and Malcolm X.

The true spirit of Anglo Americans can never be fully realized nor appreciated by their counterparts-(White Folks). But most African Americans have “white friends” I don’t know too many who don’t.

I know that one day, America will have an abundance of peoples, minds and cultures working together tiwards solving and resolving many of the social and econmic problems that plauge of country instead of “races and classes” working against one another.

Hi Chris,

National Geographic Genome project. On the NATGEO website. Here Over 200,000 subject samples now...indicate that everyone alive on earth today can trace their roots back to Africa. Still going on last I heard.

There is another study that concluded within this year that came up with same results...darned if I can remember who did it...but, was a college in Eastern US. Will search for it again.

Can't give you a single source for the Paul and Eusebius thing...just a feeling I get from researching 100's of sites about early Christianity. Can't seem to find historical evidence for Jesus either. Can however find evidence of Caesar, Nero, Origen, Plato, Ptolemy, etc., people that lived around the time of Jesus.

Early Christianity is commonly defined as the Christianity of the three centuries between the Crucifixion of Jesus and the First Council of Nicaea (325 CE). Sometime after Council of Nicaea, Constantine commissioned Eusebius to put together 50 Bibles…, which did not exist at the time. Here

“Paul's biblical letters (epistles) serve as the oldest surviving Christian texts, were probably written around 60 C.E. Most scholars have little reason to doubt that Paul wrote some of them himself. However, there occurs not a single instance in all of Paul's writings that he ever meets or sees an earthly Jesus, nor does he give any reference to Jesus' life on earth. Therefore, all accounts about a Jesus could only have come from other believers or his imagination. Hearsay”. Here

“…Eusebius is next heard of as bishop of Caesarea Maritima. He succeeded Agapius, whose time of office is not certain, but Eusebius must have become bishop soon after 313. Nothing is known about the early years of his tenure. When the Council of Nicaea met in 325, Eusebius was prominent in its transactions. He was not naturally a spiritual leader or theologian, but as a very learned man and a famous author who enjoyed the special favor of the emperor, he came to the fore among the members of the council (traditionally given as 318 attendees). The confession that he proposed became the basis of the Nicene Creed.” Here

The Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John (Mark was actually written first) were written long after the death of Jesus…we don’t really know who wrote them, and we know that early church literature was heavily censored, altered, or changed

I hardly think the argument that "Paul and Eusibius were the creators of Christianity as we know it today" with no supporting evidence qualifies as a strong claim. I refuse to acknowledge it because you provide points with no proof and the lack of proof cannot disprove anything. I hardly think that you would allow me to pull the faith card, so I don't think I'm good with a because you said so argument.

And I appreciate the Census stats, but most of the dates are fairly early to even be considered in opposition to the flood story, with exception of DNA traces in Africa (do you have a source there?).

I gotta agree with lamarmickens on this one. Except on WWII and II, what did the US have to do with those two conflicts? Lamar is certainly right about slave labour providing free labour which was pivotal in the growth of the US economy, as was exploitation of resources and propping up tyrannical dictatorships/malevolent governments that supported US multinationals around the world (Indonesia, Chile, apartheid South Africa, to name a few). We have something similar to reparations here (New Zealand), where indigenous Maori are receiving payments to settle historical and contemporary grievances. Although many people consider it to be a gravy train, there are several cases of the money being reinvested into the people, ensuring a more prosperous future (and present) for an otherwise underprivileged people. Yes, the treaty settlements are vulnerable to abuse, but these pail in comparison to the actions taken by the crown against Maori up until very recently. I would assume it to be similar in America concerning both African Americans and native Americans.

Okay, first off, I am black… and residing these blogs concerning Malcolm X is quite frankly, stupid. Generation X’ers right?

First off, before any more of you responding make yourselves look any stupider than you are, go rent or buy X, directed by Spike Lee; this may help a bit. As I go through some of these blogs-the one thing I want you to do when speaking about black leaders of the past and present is stop getting “filtered information.” You are basing your ideology on some pretty screwed up info.

When you compare Malcolm to Hitler--you’re way off base. First off, Hitler killed orchestrated the mass extermination of 3 million or more Jewish people.. How many “white Americans” did Malcolm kill? Second Hitler overran Poland, Hungary and was going for Mother Russia. How many cities and states did Malcolm X conquer? What Malcolm was about and what he stood for was equality. Only, unlike Dr. King he wasn’t going to get the shit kick out of him to prove a point or be respected.

I wasn’t born in the fifties but I came along in the 60’s a saw first hand, in your face racism. I was threatened, stalked and looked upon as black! A nigger; the lowest thing on the planet because of the color of my skin.

What I want many of you to do is go to You Tube and type in Malcolm X’s name and look at the real media footage and there should be parts of the movie that Spike Lee made called “X” Malcolm towards the end of his life took a trip to Mecca, were he found out that there were Muslims of all colors and races. He inspired a generation; just as I hope he may inspire you…

Racism can take many forms; the worst is “blind racism” that’s when someone manipulates you into seeing something one way when its quite another… Just check it out and see for yourself. You have the mind for it!
