Closing the Cabstand’s Doors (The End)
May 14, 2008 by chillinatthecabstand
UPDATE: I’d just like to note before we get started that I am an atheist, a secularist, etc. I do not believe in god or any form of religion, superstition, or bullshit. I am just noting this because angryxtian has taken it upon himself to create a post bragging that he “converted” he or some shit. It’s a lie, lie, lie. I am an atheist. And angryxtian is still a lying asshole. Period.
Naturally - unfortunately - everything that goes up must come down, and everything that opens must eventually close. It just might be time for the Cabstand to do the same, fall back and fade into some footnote in the metaphorical book of atheist blogging.
I’m now officially closing the blog down, I’ve just gotten pretty bored with it. Like an elementary-age kid with an old video game or some shit.
So, I’m officially closing up shop, I’ve just rediscovered some things a little more important in my life (UPDATE: no, angryxtian, not god or religion - I’m talking about making music).
It’s always annoyed me when people spend their whole lives arguing about its meaning instead of living it. Just like how I hate it when rappers record 20 years of songs about how they are the best but never make anything actually worth listening to.
Whatever.
I’ve mostly shifted my focus back to music lately, having recently discovered Johnny “Guitar” Watson and rediscovered the joy of making music.
So, basically, I’ve moved on from the Cabstand. That’s probably half the reason my last week or two of posts and comments have sucked something awful.
I’ll probably still pop in every once in a while, but don’t expect much. I’m planning to lend this blog’s space out to other atheist bloggers. (If you want to guestwrite on this blog, just leave me a comment here.
Love and peace to all the readers.
Maybe I’ll do one final “Looking Back On the Cabstand” post or some such. Or maybe my interest in this blog will return. Who knows?
PS Peep the final stats by week. Out of the roughly four months I’ve been in business, the best week was about 1200 views, the best day was about 350 view in one day, and the worst was about 3 in a week and 0 in a day.

Hey Chillin,
Shame to here you are giving your blog a break, but it’s understanding as these things can dominant your spare time!
Good luck with your future endeavours, in particular your journalism!
Frank will be glad to get a break from your persistent “persecution”, and as I can’t be fucked debating with that hick, and I assume many are tiring of his crap, he may get some reprieve. At least his posts won’t top science blogs again
Although my blog does not cover only religious issues, I invite people to visit in search of ‘chillinesque’ type posts.

Cheers,

Thanks for the well-wishing.
If you ever want to throw something about religion up here, I added you as a guest writer.
I am genuinely honored to get an invite to guest write for your blog, however I’m somewhat in the same boat you are and I’m also pulling my blogging back a bit to make time for other things. I enjoyed reading your posts and I hope you’ll still blog when the outrage strikes and you need an additional creative outlet.
I somehow hope angryxtian will honor my page with his flavor of logic. Everyone needs a bait diversion now and again.
Good luck with your music, maybe you’ll post some songs for us.
Take care,
Super J.

Chill,
I hope you’ll come around.
I know we didn’t agree, and I hope I didn’t come across as intolerant and uncaring as that was never my intent.
I know you are an intelligent individual.
I “hope” you’ll change your mind about God at some point.
I’ll miss our conversations so I hope you’ll come by Sharpening Iron and stir the pot from time to time.
I wish you the best.
What are you doing after school? Is this your last year?
God Bless,
Chris
Awww…Well I guess every star burns out someday. I’ll miss your incisive wit, thought-provoking blogs and will no doubt think of you next time I’m freezing my tits off at a taxi stand.
Take care and be well
Lucy
Chris:
Never came off as necessarily intolerant. Close-minded, maybe, but no more than I am. I’ll still be around, maybe do a post if a good idea eventually strikes me, and I’ll definitely still be commenting on blogs.
Lucy:
lol
Awww Man, why’d you go an do that?
Maybe the Cabstand will return someday.
It’s just been wearing me down lately (for about a month).
Wait…you had a blog? Hmm, didn’t really notice.
Hey, by the way, this doesn’t mean you can just ignore all those questions. lol
