as you may have noticed from some of my recent posts, i’ve been looking into LaVey satanism a lot lately. i identify with a lot of its core principles, but I also have a lot of objections and differing opinions that will probably keep me from ever becoming a satanist.
SELF-CONTRADICTION
the whole magic thing seems to be different in satanism because they arent stupid enough to believe in magic or such bullshit. all their rituals and magic are just meant to stimulate a person emotionally and mentally, but they call upon fictional demons for their power and the like. this seems a lot like self-deception to me, which satanists claim is a cardinal sin.
MAGIC
satanists seem to take the shit too serious. almost like they actually believe in their “magic” powers. it seems to me that a lot of satanists just use the aforementioned excuse “it’s emotional” so they can do fantasy, fictional magic without feeling stupid.
POLICE STATE
satanism is strictly opposed to any illegal act and seems to encourage more of a police state – more police with more power. how dangerous is that?! besides, I don’t think that common law is necessarily right just because its “the law.”
JUSTICE
satanist dont believe in forigveness; if you did something, you should be punished accordingly. “eye for an eye,” etc…… i personally feel that its survival of the fittest in this world and if someone commits a crime, i dont think thats so awful. however, if they get caught they will be prosecuted. i dont have any objection to people trying to avoid punishment, however which i suppose separates me from satanists.
NO INTERPRETATION
part ofthe problem with chrisitianity is that the whole thing is anti-progressive, that it can’t go forward or evolve morally or spiritually. satanism proclaims to be a progressive ideology, but it strictly forbids interpretation of the satanic bible or changing its mind about anything touched on in the satanic bible.
GENERAL DOUCHE BAGGERY
satanism by nature seems to be a magnet for disenchanted suburban metal heads that want to rebel against their christian parents, people that don’t care about the philosophy of satanism, that just think that associating with satanism makes them rebels.

Very nice. I agree with your critique on LaVeyan satanism. There were ideas LaVey tried to formulate shuch as the “Look to command,” and “Lesser magic,” which would have been great if he expanded on it. Or if his followers had the intelligence to expand on the concept themselves.
